Problems accessing Self-Service Banner

In the past few months, we have received numerous calls from Students and Faculty who are not able to access Banner Self-Service. In these cases, the error displayed is The server closed the connection without sending any data. In all cases, the root cause was a new feature in the free Avast Antivirus that was released with the newest upgrade. To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

Starting in the Fall of 2014, the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system is offering free copies of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus to all active Community College students via the Microsoft Student Advantage program.
Available to students for download on up to 5 computers at a time during the length of their educational career, copies can be downloaded directly from Office365. Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus includes full versions of Access, Excel, InfoPath, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word in both 32bit and 64bit versions.

The notification system alerts you when events occur in your courses, such as when items are due, grades are available, new content and tests are made available, and when you have unread discussions and blogs. Notifications are generated automatically whenever their associated events occur.

Missing courses in Blackboard Learn

When you are having problems viewing a course in Learn9, there are a couple different things that can prohibit you from seeing the course.
First, you should clear your browser cache. Click on the Read More... link below for additional steps to take if you're missing courses in Blackboard Learn.
CLEAR YOUR BROWSER CACHE
Clearing you Internet cached files within your web browser will fix many common browser issues. Please be aware this action will clear out all of your browser's remembered sites and other saved information.
